Visionary Artist

Tower of BabelMichael Brown

Artist Michael Brown’s images have been described as both serene and passionate at the same time. His images speak from an ancient universal language of archetypal beauty that anyone can understand and relate to. As inspiration for his art, Michael fearlessly reaches into his innermost visions and experiences, finding places that many humans fear to confront in themselves. He explores the inner map of the psyche and the heart and translates what he finds into breathtaking imagery that illustrates the journey of growth and transcendence from the inescapable phenomenon of human conditioning.

About “The Tower of Babel”

According to myth, the original Tower of Babel was slated to reach the heavens but was toppled by “God” who scattered the people all over the world, giving everyone a different language to speak. It was believed that if Framing the Essencepeople could no longer gather under one banner of language, then they wouldn’t be able to place their hopes in such futile efforts. These days, we have acquired a new common language, the language of money. If you have money, you can participate in the Tower.
If you have enough money, you can buy the nice home with the nice view and the clear sky at the top; and if you have less, you may end up destined to live in the lower levels. These are not “heavenly” or “hell” realms. There is nothing glorious about making it to the top of this Tower. This is about life right now—from the sweatshop worker making the Victoria’s Secret garments and being paid three cents for a fourteen dollar pair of underwear to the middle class American whose goods are pumped out along conveyor belts of utility. The modern day Tower of Babel is faultily balanced and unsteadily centered on the coin of the land.—Michael Brown
