Painter James Marc’s world is full of trees. They find their way onto his canvas in endless variations.
“I once opened a book of Gregory Gillespie’s paintings. The paintings were different, almost indefinable–part surreal, part nightmarish, but also beautiful at the same time. Looking around in the book for Gillespie’s commentary on his work, this is what I found: ‘So much is written about so many artists’ work. I think the work should speak for itself.’
I found this to be one of the better of an artist’s comments on life and his work.

How could one not be in love with the natural beauty of the Earth–all its natural wonders?
I think to have the ability to have an emotional response to little things in nature makes us more likely to live in joy and peace and not create hostile or dangerous situations.”
